  • Auxiliary Tryouts
    Cheer Clinic and Tryouts:  April 26th-28th
    Danceline Clinic and Tryouts:  May 2nd-4th

  • Senior Fees
    After March 1st, senior fees will go up each month by $5.00. 
  • Seniors
    We will meet with seniors to go over senior information on Tuesday, March 28th during 2nd hour.  Grad Sales will be here to deliver supplies after the meeting.  Make sure you have paid your balance by midnight Sunday, the 26th so your pickup will be smooth.  
  • Prom Slide Show
    Any senior who would like to submit photos for the prom slide show needs to place the photos on a jump drive and bring to Ms. Sexson no later than Friday, March 31st.  The photos will only be accepted on a jump drive or through e-mail. 
  • Drivers Education
    Drivers Education will be offered through the Vernon Parish School Board May 1-5 and May 8-12 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.  All students must attend class for three hours each day for ten consecutive days.  Registration is due to LHS before April 28th at noon.  Students may pick up a handout for more information in the main office.

Scholarships: 

  • The Beauregard Electric Scholarship is available to any senior with a 2.0 GPA and whose parents are members of Beauregard Electric.  Applications must be postmarked by March 3rd.  
  • Fort Polk Spouses Club Scholarship is available to seniors who are family members of active duty, retirees, or AGR and reside locally.  Applications must be postmarked by March 13th. 
  • LHS Alumni Scholarship is available to seniors who have one parent who graduated from Leesville High School.  Deadline has been extended to March 30th.
  • The Watson Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in education and who have at least one parent that is an alumni.
  • The Brumley Phillips Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in industrial/construction at either a 2 or 4 year college and who have at least one parent who is an alumni.
  • The Louisiana Sheriff's Scholarship is available to seniors who are residents of a parish in Louisiana, and plan to enroll in a college in Louisiana.  Applications must be submitted to the local sheriff's office by April 1, 2017.
  • The Byrd Regional Scholarship is available to seniors with a 3.5 GPA, major in a health science field, and plan to attend college in Louisiana.  Applications must be submitted to Mrs. Cryer in the counseling office by March 13th. 
  • The Pilot Club Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to pursue a degree in the field of medicine or business.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March 15th
  • The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in the area of business.  Applications must be received by April 17th
  • The American Legion Post 387 Scholarship is available to graduating seniors.  Preference may be given to children of Post 387 members.  Applications must be postmarked by April 27th
  • The National Association of University Women Scholarship is available to graduating senior females who plan to enroll in college by the Fall of 2017.  Applications must be received by March 31st
  • The Leesville Men's Mentoring Club Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are US citizens, demonstrate financial need, and a 19 on the ACT.  Applications must be received by April 30th
  • The Rotary Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to enroll in college by Fall of 2017.  Applications must be received by April 18th.  
  • The Vernon Parish Voluntary Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in education and return to Vernon Parish to teach.  Applications must be submitted to Mrs. Cryer by Thursday, April 6th.
  • The Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship deadline has been extended to March 8th.  Applications must be postmarked by March 8th.

Congratulations
  • Girls State Powerlifting Results- Division 2 4-A State Runner-Ups
    Congratulations to the Girls Powerlifting team, the girls finished as the State Runner-Ups in Division 2 4-A!  Way to go girls, LHS is proud!
    5th- Katelyn Watson, 3rd- Cheyenne Bell and Keyana Poteat, 2nd- Dominique Shelby and State Champions- Shanlesa Bethea, Arcianna Clemons, and Camryn Alfred.


  • Boys State Powerlifting Results
    Congratulations to the following Wampus Cat lifters:  5th place- Sabian Matuu, 3rd place- Jaelyn Edwards, Ben Finch, and Eric Huff, and State Champion- Talyn Adams!   Way to go Wampus Cats!
  • Track
    Congratulations to the Wampus Cat Track Team for finishing 1st overall at the Washington Marion Meet, and a special congratulations to Terrell Lucas on earning the "outstanding track person of the meet."

    The Mayor's Womens Comission would like to invite all Vernon Parish youth organizations to join us for the Spring Trash Bash.  Meet at Liberty Park 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 8th, 2017.  Prizes given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners, for more information call Sonny Harrell in City Hall 337-238-2251
