  • National Honor Society
    The National Honor Society banquet has been moved to May 11th.  Please get your service logs to Ms. McArthur by the end of this week. 
  • Senior Awards Day
    Seniors- Mrs. Cryer is preparing for senior awards day.  If you are receiving a scholarship that you would like presented at awards day, please bring Mrs. Cryer a copy of your scholarship letter. 
  • ACT Blue Jean Incentive
    25 or higher- you may begin to wear blue jeans on May 8th.
    21 or higher- you may begin to wear blue jeans on May 15th.
    18 or higher- you may begin to wear blue jeans on May 22nd. 
    Reminder- This applies only for the March 21st test date score**
  • COE
    If you are interested in joining COE, you can pick up an application in Mrs. Scogin's classroom.  Applications are due April 28th. 
  • Auxiliary Tryouts
    Cheer Clinic and Tryouts:  April 26th-28th: Applications are due April 24th by 12:40 p.m.
    Danceline Clinic and Tryouts:  May 2nd-4th:  Packets for Danceline are due no later than Tuesday, April 25th at 3:15 p.m.
    Flagline Clinic and Tryouts:  May 10th-13th:  Turn in completed forms to Mrs. Godwin in room 602.

    *Packets with dates and deadlines are available in the main office. 
  • Drivers Education
    Drivers Education will be offered through the Vernon Parish School Board May 1-5 and May 8-12 from 3:30-6:30 p.m.  All students must attend class for three hours each day for ten consecutive days.  Registration is due to LHS before April 28th at noon.  Students may pick up a handout for more information in the main office.

Scholarships: 

  • The Beauregard Electric Scholarship is available to any senior with a 2.0 GPA and whose parents are members of Beauregard Electric.  Applications must be postmarked by March 3rd.  
  • Fort Polk Spouses Club Scholarship is available to seniors who are family members of active duty, retirees, or AGR and reside locally.  Applications must be postmarked by March 13th. 
  • LHS Alumni Scholarship is available to seniors who have one parent who graduated from Leesville High School.  Deadline has been extended to March 30th.
  • The Watson Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in education and who have at least one parent that is an alumni.
  • The Brumley Phillips Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in industrial/construction at either a 2 or 4 year college and who have at least one parent who is an alumni.
  • The Louisiana Sheriff's Scholarship is available to seniors who are residents of a parish in Louisiana, and plan to enroll in a college in Louisiana.  Applications must be submitted to the local sheriff's office by April 1, 2017.
  • The Byrd Regional Scholarship is available to seniors with a 3.5 GPA, major in a health science field, and plan to attend college in Louisiana.  Applications must be submitted to Mrs. Cryer in the counseling office by March 13th. 
  • The Pilot Club Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to pursue a degree in the field of medicine or business.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March 15th
  • The Vernon Parish Chamber of Commerce Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in the area of business.  Applications must be received by April 17th
  • The American Legion Post 387 Scholarship is available to graduating seniors.  Preference may be given to children of Post 387 members.  Applications must be postmarked by April 27th
  • The National Association of University Women Scholarship is available to graduating senior females who plan to enroll in college by the Fall of 2017.  Applications must be received by March 31st
  • The Leesville Men's Mentoring Club Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are US citizens, demonstrate financial need, and a 19 on the ACT.  Applications must be received by April 30th
  • The Rotary Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to enroll in college by Fall of 2017.  Applications must be received by April 18th.  
  • The Vernon Parish Voluntary Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to major in education and return to Vernon Parish to teach.  Applications must be submitted to Mrs. Cryer by Thursday, April 6th.
  • The Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship deadline has been extended to March 8th.  Applications must be postmarked by March 8th.
  • The GOALS of Vernon Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who demonstrate financial need.  Applications must be received by April 27th
  • The Leesville Ruff Ryders Jean Ghost Griffin Scholarship is available to seniors with a 2.5 GPA and who plan to enroll in college after high school.  Applications must be received by May 1st. 
  • The Dunn Family Endowed Scholarship is available to seniors who plan to attend LA Tech, major in Civil Engineering, and have a 2.0 GPA.  Applications must be received by May 25th.  
  • The Jubilee Park Scholarship is available to graduating seniors with financial need who plan to enroll in the Fall of 2017.  Applications must be postmarked by April 21st. 
  • The Myrtle Brown Scholarship is available to graduating seniors.  Applications must be received by April 30, 2017. 
  • The Kiwanis of Vernon Memorial Scholarship to graduating seniors who plan to enroll in college.  Applications must be received by April 24, 2017
  • The MSG Patrick Memorial Scholarship is available to graduating seniors.  Applications must be postmarked by April 21st. 
  • The James and Julia Shade Scholarship is available to seniors majoring in the field of medicine, education, social service, or areas promoting human welfare and social reform.  Application deadline is May 3rd. 
  • The Steve Netherland Memorial Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who plan to continue their education after graduation.  Applications must be received by April 30th. 
  • The Zeta Phi Beta Scholarship is available to graduating seniors with a 3.0 GPA and who demonstrate financial need.  Applications must be turned into Mrs. Cryer by April 24th. 
  • The Dustin "DC" Clemons Memorial Scholarship is due to Mrs. Cryer by May 4th. 

Congratulations
  • 4-H
    Congratulations to Madison Merchant.  She competed in the State Woodsmans Skills Competition.  Madison placed 1st in Bow Saw, 3rd in boy/girl Crosscut, and 3rd in the girls Crosscut competition.  Way to go Madison!
